MEET THE CHEF
Vineyard Caribbean Cuisine is a black-owned local take out restaurant that offers the best authentic Caribbean food on Martha’s Vineyard. It is currently owned and operated by chef Newton Waite. Born and raised in Jamaica, Newton studied Food and Nutrition from Secondary School,thus developing a keen interest and skills in the area over the years. Waite has been the head chef since 2017 at Vineyard Caribbean Cuisine and has more than 27 years experience in the cooking industry. Newton has worked in some of the most renowned resorts including the Chippewa Hotel, the Ritz Carlton and the Boca Club and Resorts in Florida.
Throughout Newton’s career in the restaurant industry, Newton has worked at all levels, however, after a few years and immense growth, Newton decided to stick to his roots and cook authentic Caribbean food with natural herbs, traditional spices and a Caribbean vibe.
Newton has been preparing the best Caribbean meals you will ever have on Martha’s Vineyard.
